if i steal silver and give it to someone will the scents point towards that person or me?

when tracking stolen goods, you have the option to track either the stolen item or the original perpetrator.
Not entirely sure tracking the stolen item works with silver, though: haven't done enough silver stealing yet
But either way, someone who has access to the scents will at the least be able to track you, the original perpetrator.

i dont think silver coins can be scented.
