Today I found a larceny clue near a leanto in wilderness
After tracking it shows the thief is not online,neither has a homestead..
I right-clicked ground with scent but nothing happened
Does it mean he is already Dead?

If you right clicked the ground with the scent it would say if he was dead or not. If he is offline and has no homestead then right clicking the scent near YOUR leanto or homestead will summon kill him.

IT says nothing cuz its not near my homestead right?
If he dies due to summoning and I scalp him,dose it leave any clue?seems no need to do this cuz only top10 Scalp will have a mask?
Maybe I shall do for justice?though it must be an alt

It says nothing if you right click it on the ground and he is alive and you are not near your homestead.

If he dies to summoning you will leavea scent.

If he has murder you will get Store Credit for killing him.

Always good to do justice. But maybe better to give to somebody else if your base is not well defended. You can also just throw him in the stocks in town.

It doesnt count if he only has revenge(not murder),right?

Revenge also leaves a scent.

Indeed, you don't get store credit for killing somebody with Revenge. Revenge, in some cases, could be justified and is not nearly as horrible as murder.
