I saw some gear in player stalls at a very cheap price.but someone warn me that it may be scented,so I decide to wait for a few days to make it safe,can someone tell me how long the scents on the stolen goods will expire?
Btw,why steal from a leanto don't trigger crime debuff?does this a bug or its intended?

Intended. The Crime debuff is reserved for crimes committed against a plot of land.

I thought that items purchased from stalls were safe from scents..

Nope let's say i stole your favorite pair of pants, and i then sold it to someone, and that someone put it in their stall. Even though they unknowingly bought stolen goods, and they had nothing to do with the theft in question, the pants are still stolen regardless, so the scent will follow them to the ends of the world (unless you destroy them).

Yes.

Generally buying it now is better than waiting. People can snatch that bargain before you. If no one want it back, that is.
