ok, lol about the finery forge,

loaded it up, lit the fires, added the pig iron, and pumped the bellows as they were needed. but, didn't add more fuel. ---- approx. how much additional fuel is needed on top of the initial 40 and what might be the time involved for a complete job? (waiting on coal  or would answer my own question)

thx

We run through about 8-15 clamps for our runs but we mass about 40-70 wrought as to not waste all the time actually heating it up. It really depends on how much coal is in the clamp from bonuis.

exact numbers are still coming up, my first time alone I was lucky to have some piles near the forge... I guess I used at least 2?

but here's some general tips to know beforehand:

Argentis wrote:1) Equip your Tongs
2) Fill the finery forge with coal.
3) Take 1 bar of iron and as much coal you can carry.
4) Lit the Forge.
5) Wait for the second bar to go up to 100 while adding coal so the forge doesn't unlit.
6) Put the iron inside and every time one of the chimney stops smoking, activate its bellow. Fill with coal when needed.
6) Repeat until the bar turns into Iron Bloom.
7) Take the bloom (making sure your tongs are equipped) and carry it to a trip hammer. Hammer it till it turns into Wrought iron.
8) Repeat steps 6 to 8.

Tips: If you are three players, each one can take care of one of the bellows for maximum efficiency. If you are alone don't try to put more than iron at the same time or you won't have time to hammer it at the trip hammer, it will turn to dross. However when you take out your first iron bloom, you can put another iron bar inside. This will allow you to chain hammer iron bloom as by the time you finish hammering one the iron bar will have turned to bloom.

being a noob I didn't had a thong and made 3 blooms at once, turned into dross pretty quick

To add to this, I myself have a question about the Finery Forage.

Is there something I must do to destroy a Finery Forge? Mine won't go below 59%.

own the claim. If you don't own the claim in question, the objects will have increasing soak against your destructive tendencies. The owner has no such soak. Either that or look into the arson system with greek fire.
