Ive been putting in 13 iron ore and 12 lime, only getting one ore out. used to be 182% so usually get two once in a while get one. Im assuming it got changed but I didn't read that in the patch notes, did it?

Not yet. You should start a thread posting your results in trying different combinations and encourage other pilgrims to share theirs as well. The new formula is up for speculation and discovery at this point.

My guesses would be:
Clothing with + Affluence/Mining could affect how many ores are likely to turn into bars when mined. (I'm wearing +180 Affluence though, so that may not be a value)
Your Sparks & Embers/Mines & Mountains Skill could affect how many ores are likely to turn into bars when mined.
The Ratios to ore:lime (Everything I've tried has only yielded 1 bar so far)
Possibility of an average of the 3 elements per ore and charcoal used could affect how much return you get.
The order of which you put charcoal and items into the smelter?
