mine only producing rubble

ever since the update I cannot mine anything but rubble. I am still in the first level of my mine but I have mined 27 times and received nothing but rubble. do the ore boulders look different since the update?

You can see ore in the wall. Once you find a node you will have a fair amount of it. But it will take more than 27 boulders to find a node in many cases.

Guess all that time I spent playing certain other games and mining a lot of straight lines trying to find goodies will pay off here, too.

good thing we learned the most efficient mining patterns from DF
Now someone needs to figure out average vein size and we're all set.
