Multiple claim defense mechanics

As a workaround to one of the current bugs, I had suggested using 5 claims instead of one to create a base. (1 in center, one in each cardinal direction would create a continuous claimed area with the center claim as a homestead.) What I didn't think of was how brazier mechanics may (or may not) work with this. If I get brazier fire on one claim section, will braziers in the next section over pick up the fire? Both claims are owned by the same player, but are considered different entities.

I'm gonna throw out a wild guess of, no. I doubt multiple claims even WITH the same owner will link braziers.

VIllage claim over rides personal claims as far as defense mechanics go. Doesn't matter if the brazier is on a personal claim or not, if crimes trigger the brazier defenses they will be activated throughout the entire vclaim.

I can throw in some experience here, but will keep it cryptic.

Multiple claims will proc multiple things while raiding, thus beeing a better defence then 1 claim.

It needs to be less cryptic and properly analyzed. As the mechanic actually functions may end up being overpowered or underpowered. This is why I ask.

With the right setup the braziers are overpowered, imo.

Active claim defenses have to be overpowered because the passive defenses are underpowered, as things are now. It's balanced towards active (braziers) because passive walls (stone hedge) are so incredibly weak. When you have to build 4 or more layers of stone - which can still easily be mowed down - you know the wall defenses suck as a means of protection from thieves and raiders.

While this is true at this stage of development, I'm assuming that in the future there will be other stronger passive claim defense options added, at which point damage levels will probably be tweaked. But for the time-being stacking braziers is the only viable option for having a reasonable level of defense. Even so, even that can still be overcome by a determined force.

On the other hand, I'm positive that the thieves and raiders would love to see weaker defenses... no surprise there.

Jorb already said there are 2 more walls planned along with a siege system.

The current system is fine if you build a town right. There are way 2 many crap designed towns and "vaults" out there giving the system a bad name.

No, they can't.
