Is there any real purpose for drying fish on a frame?

it used to be that they were very useful for regeneration food. These days they aren't too bad for gluttony on a lower-level if you manage to catch the right fish, but getting them in any quantity is a major pain
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

I mean if you have 1000 fish laying around, and some more 1000 drying frames.
I guess you could do it, but the time getting teh right fish-and drying them, added to how much they give.
not worth it
