New player here, well been in about 3 weeks.

I'm starting to go towards the farming aspect of things.
I built a Compost Bin, I threw a few worms in there, but it was my impression that you could mix multiple things in there....
Its not allowing me to put anything in the bin except worms...

Any answers to this, please PM me !

Thanks.

you do not actually put things inside with the worms just ctrl+right click the compost bin if you wana spam things like nuts/feathers/grass/meat etc. into the food compartment of the bin.

the worms inside only boost the eficiency of the humus production (u can understand as humours per hour). you have to select food from your inventory and rigth click it in the compost bin. that way the compost bin will be filled and then the humus production starts. for more information look here http://www.salem-wiki.com/mediawiki/ind ... le=Compost

Efficiency only effects purity, not the speed humus is produced, worms at 0% are useless. Once your field purity goes up on its own, you can then use purity crops to feed worms, who will increase in purity slowly. Those worms go in the bin, and effect the humus produced, which is useless on fields, but useful for gardening pots. Field purity goes up on its own, even with 0% humus

You can also save up a couple of silver and buy some purity cabbage on the player stalls to help speed things up a bit.

I spent my first 4 months of game time with a set of 0% worms in the bins, thinking the exact same thing

Also its probably worth noting that time spent raising Earthworm Pythons purity is much better than on common earthworms.

So I put a bunch of worms, plus two python worms in the bin, but they are all zero purity, does that make them useless in there, and should I just take them out?

Take them out, place the pythons on a box or some other container, and put purity food next to them to eat (once every 12 hours). Best bet would be pumpkin flesh or cabbage leaves. Then when they eat, they take on a % of the purity of the food
