Are they worth it? I mean at 40 silver a slot and only four more slots than a wicker basket which has the same footprint I'm kind of having a hard time figuring out what's the point.

The point is that they are amazingly hard to force open.

And it's not like you have to buy iron.

Well unless you hide the keys to it in another castle they are completely useless after patch.

But they can be picked up, moved off claim and then put onto your own claim and opened that way. Plus they scream I've got something worth stealing.

And it's not like you have to buy iron.

Raiders frequently just smash everything so its a lot of extra effort for them to deal with metal chests. It also gives you time to recover the chests before they are broken into.

If i am correct, metal chests dont have soak, they just have muuuuuch hp, so they can be broken with 5 stats alt, and it doesnt matter, on stake claim or not.

I'm not trying to make a case against Metal Chests, I'm honestly just trying to figure out if they are worth building/lugging back several hours home.
