So i have been wondering how wear works, and would like some clarification on it.

At the moment, im currently using a 0% blade to take off the hide, then im using a high purity blade to take the first peice of meat(Beaver).

Does wear work for each item taken? Like the hide, then each meat part, or does a wear tick only occure on the first peice of meat cut, then no more wear is applied to the blade for the rest of the carcas?

A wear tick is applied for every item in the game.

Right now different items have different wears against a blade.

After the next patch we are adding a new knife type as well and different items will have different wears against different blade-types as well.

Yea Thanks for the heads up.

I done some testing last night, and to make blades last longer im cycleing between 2 blades. One for the hide, and butchering off the trash meat to get inspritionals or bones, then a high purity for getting steaks.

Very upset you cannot sharpen butchering knifes.

Will the blades stay the same purity, or will they match the purity of the whetstone ?

Or will you create an avarage purity on the re-sharpened blade depending on the purity of the orignal blade + the whetstone.

Just curious

Knives will assume the purity of the whetstone after the patch.
