Just stated playing, so I am still attempting to figure out basics... so I have a very basic question.

How do you capture a Tumbleweed?

What are the mechanics of getting the tumbleweed?

I have chased them, I have right clicked them, nothing I do seems to allow me to capture them.

Help please, thank you in advance.

If you're using a custom client then right click on the tumbleweed icon on the map and he'll follow the tumbleweed until eventually picking it up.
Or just right click on the tumbleweed till you're following it, might require rapid right clicking.
(if you have wander then activate it before clicking the tumbleweed)

If you're following a tumbleweed at walk speed just let the client navigate you around. You eventually catch up to them because you walk in a straight line and they zigzag around.

Make sure you have an open inv. slot too - otherwise you won't pick it up, you'll just reach it and stop.

I live in a region where I find Tumbleweed frequently. Okay, 2 or 3 per day, I believe that's frequently.

I usually walk around in forage more, but when I see a Tumbleweed I switch off forage mode and select run mode instead, right click on the Tumbleweed (in the Enders client) and just watch my guy auto-catching it.

Okay, it's rather flat where I live, of course sometimes my guy just runs into a tree or a cliff.
