Nope, i cant smash them with a rock for the shield which was my first guess

I tried putting it on the ground and jumping, stomping or shooting at it. Tried using it as ammunition for the sling. I tried using it on an anvil and stamp mills. I tried using a pickaxe on it. Tried boiling, putting in fire, cooking in an oven. Nothing worked.
My last idea was leaving it in a mine and causing a cave in (not tested)

Yes, yes...lol. But then what? Anyone know how to get the shell off and such?
