simple stove - not so simple!

I cant place this damn thing in my hovel. I'm using ctrl to place it as accurate as possible.. it LOOKS like its perfectly placed on the 2 grey tiles
im still getting "you cannot build that there"
what am I doing wrong?

its always been like that, i havent tried it this world but before the wipe the tool tip used to say something about it being difficult to place and it would be fixed later (like that ever happened) it sounds like bad advice, but just keep trying
edit: pave the inside of your house? can i buy pot from you?
