Placing many but spaced a few tiles apart within each other's range isn't very good as the damage done is lessened. Placing single braziers just outside the range of the next one would be great, but unfortunately it's easier for raiders to destroy them than it should be because we can build our own (fuel-less) braziers or torchposts on your land to reduce the damage. Placing the braziers in tight-packed groups helps to counter that as the raider has to spend more materials and spend more time under brazier fire destroying a larger number of braziers.
