How does it work ?
1.Do i summon someone if i find his homestead ?
2.and he is summoned there even if he logged out elsewhere ?
3.and if i manage to summon him and he is offline he just stands there and get hit ?
4.is then a crime if i kill him ?
5.if he is online what happens ?
is there a "catch" i should know about ? ( before its too late )

thank you for any answers

If he doesn't have a homestead (it will tell you on screen) then you can summons him at any lean to I believe, and that's a summons kill, no fight he comes through dead

so if someone steal from your farm and you avenge-kill him then u re a criminal too. Isn't that unfair ? how can u have justice in legal ways ?

there is plenty of discussion on exactly this subject and the way I interpret the dev's vision is: justice is an arbitrary concept which the players are encouraged to define for themselves. It is typically created by the stronger party (which in current society would be the government). Due to the absence of a government, the role falls on the players themselves and their factions. If you do not wish to take the risk, there are others to contact which might be willing to deliver justice for you (notably in roanoke, we had the candy gang who could always be counted on to track a scent and swiftly end the suffering of the criminal). There is no such thing as an innocent murder, or a legal crime. I like that about salem :)

well, I do know people who tried to and did not get a response... so you cannot consider them criminals since they did what they could on their side.

But either way this is what you think i guess. Not everyone shares that aspect, right ?

As I mentioned before, it's the large factions defining justice - if some group thinks you're a criminal and murder you for that, I don't think it will matter much what you or anyone else thinks about your guilt.
