new weapons hit less than old ones ?

i just made a new spanish sabre after the patch and i hit a beaver for a damage of 6.9, while with my old sabre i used to hit for 9.something.

so is there something different in new weapons ?

No all weapons hit the same. Your yellow bile might be lower, or it is simply the byproduct of damage adjustments made in the last combat patch.

meanwhile, leveraging how some old maneuvers have been adjusted is rewarding. You can pile up some fairly enhanced damage numbers by beating stuff over the head with a club a few times, and then using move(s) that are modified by reel, since the club increases reel.

If for some other reason, an enemy had reel, that would also be a time to use this or that move. Or indeed, other Bad Debuffs caused by various things.
