Can´t launch the game

Hi guys, I just registred minutes ago, but I've ran into a problem
When I click launch client it downloads something, and when I start up this download it wants to download the exact thing again
What am I doing wrong? how can I start this game?

The jnlp launcher will download some files in order to run, that's how it works. If it doesn't open your client then perhaps something is bugging it, in which case you'll have to be more specific. Looking trough the FAQ & this forum could also help in finding a solution.

Ive looked at the FAQ but none of them seem to adress my problem, the problem with my jnlp launcher is that it is actually downloading more jnlp launchers instead of downloading what is neccecary to run,


too illustrate : I just downloaded salem (5).jnlp
so I already got 6 copies

maybe the problem lies with my horrible computer, I'll try restarting it

Hm, odd.
As I understand it it does verify the jnlp against the version referenced on the server. It shouldn't save it though and once the verification is done it should continue downloading several other jar files after which the game should start. Have you tried one of the custom clients?

The second link for the ender client seems to give the fewest people trouble.

You do have Java installed, right?

Yes I downloaded java before this all happened,
before that I didn't have it installed and when I used the launcher it just showed some code
after I updated java the duplicate problem started

I just restarted too, doesnt work either
I´ll look around to see if I can find a solution

When you right click the jnlp & select "open with" what application does it show?

It should open with the Java Web start by default.

I´m assuming thats the problem too (after reading this)

It just shows random applications like chrome, i'll try to open it with java, and see if it works

Jup, try opening it with "javaws", it can be found in the bin folder of your java installation.
