Two questions

When you picks up an old log, a snake pops up and you kill it; after some time pass by if you pick the same log you still have chances of the snake popping up again?

And the other one, maybe it related to the first. When you search a stump, and for example you find a spider web; if you search it again after some time pass by you still have chances to find something?


I just want to know if I should search again or if they are just one time trick things.

1) Yes, it can happen again with the same chance.

2) Yes; old logs and stumps have a chance to generate items every time the map tile is loaded. That means there's a chance every time you log in pretty much, hence there will be more chance for items in more populated areas.

Up until the point where the area is so populated that the maps can never refresh at all. 3-4 screens outside an active village is your best bet.

I was planning to make a snake farm. So in theory, If I put a lot of logs in 3 -4 screens outside my claim it will work?

Fast way to get leather, some meat and an ocational etterfang. If it works as intended, would be faster and more reliable than walking around looking for rabbits/deers. And since the snakes that pops up from logs dont aggro inmediatly, its pretty safe too.

I have picked up and moved 100's of those logs and have only had snakes spawn on the initial pick-up. I have never seen a snake spawn picking up that log a second, third or more times.

It's a random chance I think. I have a hollow log that I moved a few times and 2/5 times there was a snake.
