Boat Stuck in claim

So we bought a boat, and now its stuck in a claim, is their anyway to switch positions in a boat without leaving it? The claim is a dead random claim in the middle of the sea please help

You will have to wait till the claim is dead or comit a crime I guess.

it says on the hint that it will be faster if you go far away from the crime scene i think.
