Parry

Postby porcobuddha » Sun Jul 13, 2014 7:31 pm

I tried to parry the "charge attack" of a deer but I died because the deer used the charge 3 times in a fraction of a second.
How is this parry move supposed to work?

It'll reduce immediate frontal damage. Edit, nvm, that was guard. The second part still stands.

Deer however are likely to charge if you use an attack when they are on random walking mode, perhaps not the best opponent to try it on.

But this ***** deer used 3 charges in literally 1 second.
What should I do to defeat a deer?
My char has 25 biles.

I recommend aggroing it with a slingshot and using an object or a sled as a shield from its charges. When it goes into regular chasing-attack mode just use stomp to immobilize and finish it off with a punch. Repeat if neccesary.

I tried to parry against a rabbit few minutes ago and failed miserably.
Still can't figure out how this skill works.

Parry is for sword play. Animals, not using swords, should have little effect with it.

I thought it would work for every attack. No explanations on the skill itself.
Well thanks for the info anyway.
So there's no point in using parry vs. animals. Guard is much better.

This is correct. We intend to update the combat tooltips updated with the combat patch.

If you literally hug the deer it can't charge at all. After deer creates an opening, thrust to kill. Works everytime!

I swear some of these days I'm going to write a neural net AI that learns your stale, static strategies.
