Destroyed my Alt's Leanto... Do I lose her stuff?

I was remodeling my property and destroyed the Leanto of my secondary character. When I tried to switch characters to her, I got the standard message:

"The position that your character last logged out is not available, because that location has become occupied. Would you like to restart at your homestead, losing everything in your inventory?"

My Alt was logged out on my property, and has full permissions there.

I have a few questions:
-Since her Leanto is gone, where will she respawn?
-What will become of her inventory? She was storing 500 silver and 4 bars of Iron. (Iron that I need to build the smelter which caused the construction project in the first place)
-Is it possible to know where one of your characters last logged out?
-If I free up the location where she last was, will she be able to log back in, or was the whole problem caused by destroying her Leanto?

I'm not eager to lose the iron I imported to my new base, nor do I look forwards to having to walk back from Boston. In the future I will always build the new Leanto before destroying the Old, but that's water under the bridge and I need your advice now.

Note that the claim is not the problem, because then the message would have said "...because that location as claimed." You've probably put something on her logout position.

In Providence.

The iron, along with most other kinds of items, will be dropped on the ground around where she logged out. I'm fairly sure the silver should remain in her inventory regardless.

Nope.

-If I free up the location where she last was, will she be able to log back in, or was the whole problem caused by destroying her Leanto?

If you clear it up, she should be able to log back in.

Thanks, I will go shuffle bins around until I can log her back in. I didn't really move all that much stuff before I logged her out though...

You sure the loss of her Leanto isn't what triggered this?

I've repositioned stuff all over my base and I still can't log her in.

I may have to bite the bullet and Respawn her, but I'm really not looking forwards to having to walk her all the way back from Providence.

edit: Ok, I gave up and respawned her. She appeared in Providence with her wallet and lit torch in hand. Back at my base, I found her various items scattered about in an open unobstructed area near my Claimstone where I have logged her out without trouble for the past week.

I'm 90% sure that the cause of this was because I destroyed her Leanto.

Any advice on how to quickly and safely walk a character from Providence to your Base? She (obviously) already used up her free journey from the guide.

My postcount was mostly from doing science, giving advice to new players, and being helpful and polite. What's yours from?

But I must not waste an opportunity to receive sage advice from a skilled veteran: What is your diagnosis of the cause of this problem, and what would you suggest as the best way to remedy it?

While you can walk through the claimstone itself, it will still at times trigger as occupying your space. In this case, it sounds like you logged her off a bit too close to it.

There is no quickfix anymore, you really have to walk the trip. Take a canoe and use the tile tool (ctrl-q) and lets say that every 15000 tiles is around 90 mins of walking. How far could it really be, not more than a few hours I assume

It seems odd that this should happened JUST when I broke the Leanto, but not on any prior occasions. I can't prove that I never logged her out closer to the claimstone than this, but I would have thought that randomly logging her off around that area for the past two weeks would have ran into trouble at SOME point. It's just too much of a coincidence.

I will make another alt and do some log-out science with it to try to get to the bottom of this.

Well, I guess I'll get a nice little map out of it. I've never taken a character on this long of a journey before. Fortunately I know roughly which direction to go. Are there any Server Maps that I can reference to avoid getting lost?

Well, after some testing (and Divine Intervention), I have concluded that logging out next to a Claim Stone that your character does not own is a BAD IDEA and was the sole cause of the problem.

I guess it really was a coincidence that the day I killed the Leanto was the day that for the first time I logged out on my main character's claim stone. Crazy.

I also learned that a Woo-Woo wand vanishes like an earthworm when dropped.
