Think Itchy bridges will the cause of drop the purse, not on KO, but at the moment when you get an itchy.

.... Seriously? Q.Q over the loss?

No, no compensation, back to business as usual gentlemen.

also, on-topic: providence was never guaranteed to be 100% safe. If it had to be, combat damage could easily be disabled altogether in providence. There have been things like this before, e.g. people luring bears into providence.

Providence is not the safe place you all want it to be.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Still, dying to crashes is less than fun, regardless of wether they get compensated the possibilities one has to crash someone else should try to be minimized.

But this was a client crash, not a server crash, right? The server was heavily loaded, but I don't think it actually crashed. If you have a computer glitch at home that results in your death, are the devs obligated to make it up to you?

Now, if it was the vanilla client and the failure happened because of some shortcoming in the dev-maintained software, well, then... I guess it deserves further consideration.

Crash via too many audio sources is quite common, and I don't believe either the main client or the custom ones have tinkered much with the audio reproduction part of it in ages, at least from what I remember from patch notes here and there. Bombing potential should just be reduced. Client stops rendering past 100 frogs, butterflies, or stops playing sounds past however many are three quarters of way too many. If you want to KO noobs with bats so be it, knowing something crashes people and doing it is a bit of an exploit though.

probably because no-one developing the clients actually listens to the game music
I know that at least goes for me

I do, it's nice for a while. But it's not the music that's the issue, it's just the normal sounds, and the game is so much more engaging and immersive with sounds. I don't want to play MimeWorld the MMO, I want to play salem where i'm alone in a forest with my townies sleeping and all I can hear is the roar of a bear in the vicinity, the chirping of crickets and the echoes of my axe-strikes on a tree base in the distance :D

But yeah I'd rather most of the game's issues be ironed out now alongside some content patches than big systems be tackled just yet. Rather leave the discussion up for a while @ Fundamentals thread and ponder other possible priorities first.

I didnt lose too many items, so personally not too bothered by it either.

What happened last night though is, i think, not an intended game mechanic.
Someone (or something) spawned an endless army of bats which made every client crash the moment they 'warped' to Provi.
Bug or just overload of the grid?
Either way it has nothing to do with Providence being safe or not.

The devs dont have to compensate anything and most of us will have to accept our losses
...though a nice gesture wouldnt be inappropiate :D hint hint
Nobody is innocent, there are merely varying levels of guilt.
