More or less. You're just forgetting that water also goes into the pots, which drags down the purity.

well, thanks a bunch everyone. this started as a how do i keep safe thread and moved into a teach ganette how to farm, and im grateful lol. i went from just plotting stuff down, to now having a formula, and good idea of what im doing, so now the plan is a couple fields of cereal for pie dough, some pumpkin, some cabbage, and a bunch of pots with mushrooms. this should cover all of my bases for now as im only in the low 40's for humors.

thanks ever so much for continueing this discussion, i hope others come in here and learn all that i have from you guys!

Don't bother with mass planting sugar caps until you have them at decent purity, it's not worth the effort.

Oh, and I recommend spamming cereals for humus, since you also get hay from them and you need lots of it for getting higher tier crops.

Tiers vs Tier I guess. You're correct, but cabbage crumbs are by far the easiest higher tier food to acquire. But yes, you've caught me =<
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Salt is the best element for crumbs now, 19 YB.

so your saying that, humus purity also effects the final purity of a field along with the seed purity?

<wipes brow> whew.... ok thanks sir lol i was totally contemplating having to make about 4-6 more compost bins just for this if you had said yes lol. ok yeah kewl, thanks for the info.

whats the cap on purity? 100% i would take it, and if so, then what would be considered a decent purity? 30-50% ? more? less?

my crops only seem to go up about .2-.4 per growth so im assumeing its a long ride, several months minimum to get into those ranges.

You gain roughly 3-5 (4 avg) alchemical purity per crop. Each crop takes roughly 4-5 days, so well just round to 4.5 By my calculations it should take approximately 2.8 months to reach purity of 100%. That's not exactly right, but I don't think it's far off. The real kicker is the purity calculation formula. Each bit of purity increases the multiplier by more than the last, so you start achingly slow and speed up the longer you've been farming.

Percent purity is a horrendous way to explain purity and should be ignored if you understand the underlying principles.

gotcha thanks again sevenless, ok heres another question, just made some flour it was 1.21 mercury purity, ok so i go and make dough, the water appearently diluted it down to 1.05 pure dough, is there any way to prevent this? or is it just a fact you must deal with, also is there any way to get more pure water? glacier, or special areas etc,,?
