Procne wrote:It's not a bug. In the past server would simply put you in the nearest free location or spawn you at your homestead without losing inventory. But it was abused to:
1. jump over walls
2. teleport across the map while carrying goods

Therefore mechanic was added to empty player's inventory if the location of his last login is no longer available.

It is a bug because there are things that happen within the game that are not the player's doing. And when the player is punished because the server has a 'location bug', that's kinda' b.s.

So, there has to be a way to differentiate between exploited location issues and server-retardation. Wouldn't you say? Sounds like Loftar needs to fix it instead of putting a broken band-aid over it.

That sounds like a personal problem to me, Proc.

Also, I'd like to point out that now numerous people are coming out saying that what happens to me DOES happen to everyone given certain circumstances. In this case, the server crapping out was the reason my account was logged out, so regardless of where I was at, it happened to me in the way that I've said and I've just been validated by numerous players.

So tell me again why I was given a non-slottable dunce cap? The dunce cap I don't mind. . . I think it's funny. But it not being slottable is a pretty ***** thing to do, especially when I've been right this whole time.

So kindly explain this logic to me

1)player loses inventory due to server location bug. 2)everyone acknowledges location bug. 3)moderator comes in and calls said player a liar. 4)dev pulls from memory every error message in the game and says it doesn't exist, even though the bug has been acknowledged. 5)player continues being called a liar. 6)player's character is given a disability in the form of a non-slottable hat dunce cap.

I fail to see the connection here.

I suggest a server-wide event where we are all given guns and this guys gets a bunny costume.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

I never said I know everything. I read a message, relayed that information to the forum, was called a liar while also being told 'it happens all the time' and somehow I turn into an annoying know-it-all?

Oh is that because you're pissed that you have no actual rebuttal to my theory? And why not. . . oh that's right, because it's a logically-created theory based on actual statements and events that come directly from the game and the players that play the game.

I love watching people QQ when I say something they have absolutely no response to. LOL. They usually come back with a retort of violence or incoherent word vomit. You chose the former, which is fine I s'pose.

Numerous people eh? Enlighten us and give some more details there.

You made the liar part up all by yourself. You've been accusing "people" of calling you a liar for most of this threat, I've not actually seen the post that did it.

Noone has acknowledged the error message you presented. People just didn't feel like arguing with you (wonder why...) about that and concentrated on the effects, assuming you just meant the standard "location is not available" error.

And yes, you constantly say "I know better, I am infallible". Despite what everyone else says.

The bug report you presented has simply been discarded because of the lack of evidence and poor credibility.

And lol, what was this memory lecture for? It made you look like a teenager who just returned from a lecture about memory allocation at school and now feels authorized to enlighten everyone, especially game developers, about it.

There's a big difference between a "bug" and a "game mechanic that doesn't work exactly as you would expect".

Necromateur wrote:4)dev pulls from memory every error message in the game and says it doesn't exist

It's not like I have to enumerate every error message in the entirety of the game; there's a quite small and limited amount of messages available for the particular condition of being unable to log in, and it's not just that nothing exactly verbatim to that which you quoted exists among them: there isn't even anything remotely close to it. As such, I hardly think it is unreasonable to assume that you simply didn't read the error message correctly and is now not just "paraphrasing" it, but rather reconstructing it from what you think you read. The server does not magically "forget" where you were, and no amount of heap allocation failures can cause it to write a new error message in English.

If you can think of a way to mechanically compute this difference, please share. It would be a revolution for courts of justice all over the world, I'm sure.
