Its not hard to get cereals and pumps of decent purity on either of the elements.

KISS principle. Although you're probably right, for the sake of general advice (especially to beginners) simplicity is best. Tiers also take extra work, which decreases the output/work ratio. Granted the better tiered foods likely lead to higher endgame stats, but beginners generally won't need more than 40's in everything to go about their day.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Here are screenies of my pies and abattoir. I always found Blood being easy to raise, so I prefered food with good phlegm and yb values

Cabbage, raw or cooked. All flavors, all tiers. All humours.

But your old advice on going with lead also relied on tier 2 cabbage ¦]

i see a couple of these listed recipes involve mushrooms, and pumpkins, making them pretty easy to do, my new question, is there a way to raise the purity of shrooms? like if i grow them over and over in pots, will they eventually raise in purity? like crops/seeds do?

main reason i ask, is when compareing mushroom pie, and aztec abattoir, they both are REALLY close in increases to blood and YB, but one uses pumpkin meat, which i can control the purity of, and the other, mushrooms, which im unsure about. thanks in advance

You can purify stuff with gardening using pure humus made from crops, and sugar caps can be planted in pots (the only mushroom that can be).

i see so if i use a harvest of 10% pure pumpkins, and i use them in an empty copost bin, the resulting humus will be 10% pure? then use that with sugar caps will give me a net of around 5% pure mushrooms? rinse repeat? or am i totally wrong here hehe
