Which makes sense and is nice. But we can't have nice things.

But if they only trigger after the second wall is breached, how do you get them to attack every wall?

There are many ways...building signs being the most obvious example. tbh, if you have 20 walls I don't think it really matters if they fire after the first or the 2nd wall.

Fine then, stone boulders.

Stone boulders? So then lifting a boulder or log on someone's claim counts as a crime and counts towards the '3-strikes' brazier activation rule? OK, that's good to know.

I've only played Salem for a couple of weeks but I've seen quite a few claims on my wanderings and I've never seen a single one with 3 complete layers of stone walls, or of any walls for that matter. Closest I saw was a seriously pimped out claim off in the woods with lots of highend structures. It had an outer stone hedge and an inner wooden fence.

Old logs is the cutest wall i've seen. Boulders are still ugly imo. But i'd rather we could just make single walls, much prettier imo.

The best planned villages in Haven had multiple walls, but they were spaced enough apart so that a ram couldn't easily be moved between them in one session (until that ram bug or whatever it is/was came up). My best guess is that, even once we get proper siege equipment, be it cannon or whatever, we're still going to see multiple layered walls, but maybe not in the way we have them now. (Like we had castles in colonial America....)

I'd just like to point out that braziers should be firing while a raider is bashing the 2nd wall. If they are not, you need to extend your claim at least 1 tile past your walls, so they have to trespass in order to destroy the first wall.

I've been told by raiders that you can bash 2 walls and only have the third wall actually start up the defenses.

Tresspassing, as far as I know, does nothing towards the brazier activation.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.
