As for your characters, do they all have the same foraging skills?

Nope, the forager does have the foraging skills but she was seeing more even before I picked those skills up. H&G is actually quite low on all of my characters since I haven't needed much of it for any of the skills I've trained. A better comparison might be what I can see on my forage alt vs. what my husband can see on his main. We both have exactly the same foraging skills but I have quite a bit more F&W proficiency and I see lots more stuff than he does. Maybe it is just a total coincidence though.

and WOAH! I have never seen that minimap looking area before...So maybe I have yet to find that forest. I have ventured out a whole lot but yeah... My Frontier and Wilderness is 24 I think, I do have mushroom hunting. Maybe I just have bad luck or it needs to be higher. I assume this world is MUCH MUCH bigger than I imagined...

I use the mapper tool thing so I don't get lost, but I thought I was vastly approaching what would be an end of the world scenario after going 1-2 hours in a direction. I guess not :P

The world is very big. I could be wrong about the F&W proficiency. If you have mushroom hunting and haven't seen a witch hat yet, you're probably just in the wrong areas. You can find them in either type of forest as well as the dark marsh that's on the lower half of that mini map screenshot. If you come across any of those type of terrain, try roaming around in the forage mode and see if that helps. The thorn bushes are static objects just like blackberry bushes so you'll be able to see those no matter what. I've seen the thorn bushes in coniferous forests, dark marshes, and they are all over the place in badlands.

Speaking of those cross X shaped blackberry bushes, why can i not harvest those? Somewhere someone said you can get like 4-6 berries off of one bush? Anytime I try and interact I get nothing.

That means somebody picked them already.

I live next to the three types of forest in the attached minimap. All have Maple trees in them which made me assume they are Autumnal, yet there are coniferous trees in each forest too. I'm getting awfully confused, this game is so deep and complicated, part of it's charm ;)
I have yet to come across a thorn bush but I don't believe I have the skill to see/pick them yet.

What skill is required to see/pick thorn bushes? I have an inspirational that requires them, but that really does not mean i can see them

Sorry I misread an ealier post, Thorn bushes can be found in Coniferous forests. I'm surrounded by Autumnal so I haven't seen one :(

You'll need to go to another biome if you can't find them. You don't need any skill to see those, those bushes are like trees.

What I'm seeing around your Autumn forest is Grassland. Grassland will have a handful of trees as well but not in the numbers that actual forests have. If you can pick grass there, it's not a forest.
