She is talking about taking one of the wagons NW of town out to lime fort. From lime fort you can go to the standing stones in the north, giant sundial in the south, or into the deep dark. just getting to lime for will run you... 50 silver? It might be as low as 30, but I don't know off hand. lime fort, standing stones, and sundial all run along the center of the map. There's also a wagon from prov that will drop you off on UFO mountain. It's very convenient, especially if you think your quarry is far from prov.

Ideally you'd want to triangulate a bit. Or well, at least biangulate, if that's a thing. Just check direction from your current location, then use the caravans to check from an entirely different direction, cross the directions and find a general area on the map. That way you can go to the nearest caravan and keep going from there. You make a map at the location you find scents, spawn an alt there, make a leanto, port to providence and then to UFO mountain and check the direction from both places, should be easy enough after that.

Yes, dude, I know about that. But look, I'm going through the woods and accidentally collected scents. I cant tping to Providence/hs with items in my inventory, so to preserve scents I have to go there on foot. And this take a very long time.

Well unless you expect the scents to vanish instantly, you can go back to wherever you were gonna go, presumably your base, with the map you make at the scene of the crime. Thus porting an alt to the scent location and use the alt to scout out the location, or at the very least scout out more or less where the place is in relation to your current location and providence.
