When you are in stocks other players may whip you, which causes permanent humour damage.

The little number you see each time you whip someone tells you how many points you have taken off. I'm not sure how its spread across the humors but I'm sure someone better informed then me can tell you that. All I know is that I am always happy to see someone new in the stocks so I can keep improving my whipping technique.

Yes, I am a complete novice in this department myself. I have only whipped 2 people as of yet. I do hope to improve on my technique considerably in the coming months.
I would however like the option to choose front or back.

If you would really like to improve your technique then i can recommend getting a Executioner's Whip, which is sometimes found in weapon boxes on the store and thus are sometimes sold by other players. Not only will it never wear out but you will get to whip each criminal twice.

I will bare this in mind. I don't like buying items that boost my character, but justice must be served, and I want to harvest tears for the devs, so more threads like this emerge. I also pretend to be Indiana Jones when doing the deed, which is nice.

The number you see 1/10 of damage to a single bile at least that is how it used to be before they lower the damage (luckily none of my toons were stocked after that), but I believe its still the same. Also I think that damage goes from the highest bile to the lowest (one of each not just one until it drops below the second one) but I didint spend enough time in there to know for sure.
