Well i have seen many players get sniped + KO'd from witches why in town and players with high aff pushing them around to stop them teleporting / curing / blocking them in so they cannot escape. Some of these have lead to death.

Never think for one second you are safe in town.

Does Madness level go down when I decrease insanity?

Or is the teddybear the only way to get rid of the madness levels?

Smoking a hookah will bring you down one madness level.

And

Just don't play during Blood Moon. Fair enough. Thanks for making a game that encourages it's player base to not play.

This Bloodmoon mechanic can be interpreted as just the opposite of what you claim it to be. If you would like to "play" this game then why don't you go to the Providence Church and get some friends to do the same. THEN you will be dictating other people's play as opposed to them doing it to you.

I have a question about KO and Blood Moon. Yesterday morning about this time, (BEFORE the blood moon started), I was trying out my crime alt. I had just gotten the skills up to finally get Larceny. I was snooping around an undefended claim with no fences, torches, etc...

Anyway, I opened a big chest and I instantly KO'd. Someone had mentioned that it could have been booby trapped and that I would lay there for about a day. My question is: what happens now? I was already KO before the blood moon started.

Before I found out the blood moon was in effect I logged in to that character yesterday, he was still laying in the same spot and the blood moon was on. Is he toast? No biggie if he is. He was/is and experiment for me.

Judging by your statement I assume you did not have very high biles on that character. It takes about 40 Black Bile to steal an item. Something tells me you KOed because you ran out of Black Bile.

You're right on the bile part. I was monitoring them while snooping around though. I did, however, take something from a regular wooden box but nothing happened. It was when I opened the big treasure chest looking box that I instantly KO'd.

If you did not hear a boom or anything else then it was not a trap it was probably when you looked in it you consumed biles and passed out.

Lets evaluate the information, it takes about 40 biles to commit most crimes associated with theft. You character does not have very high biles. You did not have to break a wall to enter the claim and there was no defenses (torch post) present. I have to assume that the person did not get high enough in skills to get traps and probably would not have traded/bought a spring without knowing that it was for a trap.

So here are the possible things that could of happened.

1. You were killed by a torch post that you did not see.
2. You were killed by a trap that was made by a person who did not even bother to wall up their base.
3. You were killed by a trap that was made by a person that is looking to gather scents and kill you afterwards.
4 You ran out of biles while performing crimes on a crime alt with low biles while testing the crime mechanics for yourself.

Which do you think is the easiest to explain? BTW not trying to be mean just exercising lex parsimoniae and deductive reasoning.

No, no, I understand completely.

Well, I definitely don't think it was #1 because before even attempting to trespass I scoured the entire claimed area. It wasn't very big at all. Maybe 10x15 squares? I saw a bunch of half empty wooden crates and several large chests. I made double sure there were no torches because I just wanted to check out the trespass and larceny. Torches and braziers would come later. :D

#2 could have been possible. There was a mine and some machinery stuff there that I've never seen or used.

#3 is possible also. I did not have my volume up so any explosion or boom i wouldn't have heard anyway.

#4 is definitely part of the problem. This is a low bile alt of mine that I made just to tinker with other aspects of the game that I'm too SCARED to try on my main. If he dies it is not big deal. I'll just roll another and start him over and use my main to keep him fed and clothed.

I'm guessing a combination of 2,3, and 4.
