Grass growth is reaaaaly slow, but I dunno if you can build everything without pavement either :?

Is it true that ground leveling is a bad idea? (Easily detectable) I am having a tough time building without needing to level ground.

Well, you pretty much have to level most of the time. Yes, the leveling will be visible on the minimap, but if you're anywhere near a river or lake or lime pit or other such landmark, chances are it won't matter and someone walking by will get close enough to spot you as they walk by anyway. Otherwise, the map is so big, your chances of anyone discovering you by map or direct hit are pretty low.

My thought is that generally you want to level a little bit in different areas of your base, let it grow over a bit so that you won't wipe out the regrown biome when you dig again, then level the rest. This way, you have little patches of biome that can act as seeds to restore your base that much quicker. That's the best you can do for yourself, because crippling your development because you're afraid to be spotted on the minimap will hurt you more in the long run.

Best Anti-Tribe technique... IGNORE them. Sorry for large print- but this is the ultimate way to destroy Tribe.

Tribe are attention *****... they NEED attention. They remind me of conservative talk show hosts in the US... they love negativity... to them being called the devil is a badge of honor. Tribe is no different.

If their every action was meaningless- every word 'passing gas'- every attempt...wasted... they would disappear.

They can't exist w/o someone whining about them, crying foul, or singing their praises.

I'm as guilty as any to lowering myself to their level... but I should just put them on the my FOE/ignore list... and keep it that way.

You want to hurt Tribe w/o ever fighting them... ignore them, their posts, and their threads... and if you get bit... don't complain on forums... save it for Skype or other... just not here.

IF forums die for Tribe... Tribe [power] will die soon after... there's obviously not enough PVP going atm... forum drama is all they have left. Deny them any joy in Salem... and they will bail... or become vulnerable from inattention.

So... What's so bad about them? They kill you and take your stuff if you don't join them?

No, you don't have to join the tribe, only sign the treaty. Otherwise, yes, if you're not associated with the tribe in some way, we'll kill you and take your stuff, because that's a core part of the game. At least you do have the option to avoid it.

This thread isn't really about who the tribe is. You can find more information here:

viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8587

I am new here, but this is what I understand so far (please correct me in case I am mistaken on any point):

- If you do not sign the treaty, you are subject to be killed by those that have and your belongings can be taken or destroyed. (This seems contrary to the actual treaty terms, but

- If you do sign the treaty, you are considered a treaty member (TM). I can not see how some do not consider this "joining" as the word "member" implies. There are deeper levels of membership.

- If you sign the treaty, you must live on the east cost. There are also certain places where you are not allowed to live. You must inform the tribe where you live.

Regards,

Ez

Post script - If you have more questions or observations about the tribe, please leave them on the link I provided above. I am sure there are numerous tribe members that can provide you additional insight.
