If you are really worried about it you can always just log an alt in first and check that you're clear.

Teleportation is oft considered a tricky matter and one that easily enables players to exploit the game and otherwise cause problems where there ought to be no problems. Adding any degree of invulnerability to teleportation would allow players an unfair advantage. For example, immediately after teleporting you could engage in combat and be invulnerable or even if you lost invulnerability after you engaged in combat, it would guarantee a first hit.

In general, the safety of your teleportation locations is your responsibility, just as the safety of your village, claim, and resources is yours. Teleportation is likely here to stay, as are the dangers associated with it so you should plan accordingly. If you feel that this should change, then devise solutions and bring them to the 'Ideas & Innovations' section. =)

I really don't care about being invulnerable or invisible for a given time. I just want to make sure my client is loaded and that I have a "fair" chance to compete if I'm jumping into a bad situation. You already have little to no time to react to the presence of others. Add in that your client may get stuck for a minute or two guaranteeing your death is just broken. Yes, it needs to be changed, but to something sensible.

To note, this complaint has been made before.

Giving invincibility when teleporting is a stupid idea !

People with slow computers will still ***** about a 5 seconds buff not being enough !

I will always land the first hit, be it that i'm teleporting, be it that i'm camping a claimstone or leanto.

If i would be teleporting, I would have that invincibility-buff, load instantly & stomp the one gaurding my spot & thrust 2 or 3 times, *boom* other dude dead ! (cuz my pc loads very fast)

Like other said, It's your responsibility to build a good place to teleport to.
If you have a slow-loading computer, buy a new one, if you can't afford one, go work instead of playing stupid computergames & whining about a respawntimer !

If the mechanic is put into the game, and everyone knows about it, what you just said will not happen ...

And I would like to see how fast is fast - create a video of you logging into the client at a base or a area with tons of different objects, there is a delay I'm pretty sure its universal for things loading...fast computer, not fast its going to happen...

This only allows htem to get you into combat most times, not out-right kill them.

Yes, because we all have absolute control over everything that goes on between the client and the server....

You have control over the ability to have somebody at your teleport spot within 24 hour window. Make a town, put a claimstone on it... port to that. If somebody is on that claimstone then it means you didn't port back for 24 hours prior to see the waste claim. Your fault.

This is a kind of problem i see within salem.

To ensure your base is not totally wasted to the floor, its impossible for a village / player to even take a day off, in risk of a waste claim, and then it getting Razed. As you MUST log in daily to check for a waste claim.

Personally i been thinking about it recently, that you should not be able to totally destroy buildings, maybe do upto 50% damage on them, from their they collapse and become ruins, everything inside is lost to the raiders, but safe for the owners (Trys to ensure raiders to not destroy buildings), and the owner must rebuild them(35% of original materials required)(also ensures raiders cannot do mega unrecoverable damage which forces most to quit). Ruined Buildings on unclaimed land can be destroyed by anyone, but this is another suggestion / topic. Also ruined buildings decay if not rebuilt within 1 month regardless if on a claim or not.
Retribution ~ Death comes to those who wait.

I would like to see just the opposite of this...

There should be a timer added to teleport to Boston and to log off. So silly that you can just close your client and *poof* you're gone.
