Agree qbradq, but we are not talking about a resource intensive game here. Graphics are much to be desired. Java scripted. The only thing the servers really provide are map updates (resource spawns etc...).

Seriously? Have you seen the graphics in this game? I mean actually looked at them? Sure it's not UT4, but the polly count is HUGE, and so are the textures. Just look at how many faces are on a Makeshift Fence. Then multiply that by the 100's that might surround your newbie fields.

Also, as for server load, I get the idea that Salem is quite a CPU-intensive game. You've got tons of things updating all the time (critters running around, smelters smelting, things cooking / resting / burning / smoking). I think it's pretty impressive that all of these things come together for me from literally the other side of the world at a decent rate.

When I said 150 players, I meant per server, so there are already 450 players total, and that is throughout a 24 hour period (yes I play for that long), so there are probably quite a few players out there:
150 Australasia, 150 America West, 150 Central, 150 East Coast, 450 Europe. Probably much more.
The game does lag and drop for me, but I think that is more to do with my New Zealand connection which I expect to give me about 250-350 ping if the server is on the East Coast.

I have never had any trouble with lagging or rubberbanding (except one specific place with at least a hundred fields). And there have been about 450 online at one time over the three servers. It happens practically everyday now. It is during a certain time of day that it happens.
