added, although you need the quarrying skill for efficient lime gathering (which, at 2000 M&M, isn't exactly a skill new players will get fast).

Thanks for the addition!

I'm also including links to relevant wiki articles as we speak, for your clicking pleasure

Forgot about quarrying. But it does depend on the player. Myself, I enjoyed the foraging so much that I spent my first week of game time just wandering around picking things up. The only thing I bought was a backpack, and I had all but a couple dozen of the most expensive skills before I even got interested in building or doing anything else that costs silver.

Sell rabbit skin, deer skin and beaver pelts along with rattler skin. Put up some drying racks and there you go.

Just a minor correction. Argo trophies require 2 pelts, so 2 kills per 250s.

This is mentioned in the guide, but I also said (and still think so :D) that that probably isn't an option for players who don't have a claim yet.
Unclaimed drying hides tend to go missing.

woops, my bad. Didn't check the requirements very well ...
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

yes that tracking. Adventure -> Tracking. At least it used to help: if you turned it off, several forageables disappeared from view. This has been changed recently (one or two weeks ago?), but it won't hurt turning it on :)

It wasn't that it helped find foragables, toggling tracking actually "re-rolled" your chances to find them. The ones that disappeared were actually just disappearing because you lost the rolls to see them when it was toggled.

About silver, another easy-ish way to get it is to get hideworking and patrol around the game trails in dark forests. Deer and bears often spawn close by each other, and the bear's roar can aggro deer into decimating them with spam-charges for some easy bear skins to sell for 60s each. It's not uncommon to just come across an already dead bear and a smug-looking deer by a trail while stump farming.

Nice thread. This will be useful for people just starting out.
The sweat and blood shed by its people had established a strong foundation upon which the most powerful entity in the world would be built.

since I noticed some threads crop up on this again, a bump.
I checked the tips, and they are still up-to-date (bumped up the hay price from 4-5s to 5-6s, at least this sounds realistic on roanoke)

Some tips for newbs on safety tactics trading with other players would be helpful. Otherwise, thanks this was great.

unfortunately, there's little that can be done in the ways of safe trades. The best way to get good trades is generally to trade with people that have a thread on the forums. On the other hand, you can also miss out on a lot of other trades like that. Oh, and don't trade with darwoth

There are alternatives like dageir's initiative, but they require trust in someone else (if that other person is established and generally trusted, it's usually better).

The easiest way for safe trading is to make sure the other person can be trusted. Not much hints I can give except for that. Oh, you probably WILL get scammed from time to time. For large expensive trades, try to go piece-by-piece.
