Yes, they keep spawning things.

By the way and for the record, I always found Abandoned Cobwebs and other nice Inspirationals there. And I found once a 5 silver coin in one log, so make sure you look every of them... always!

EDIT: By the way, the Myrtle Oaks also spawns things sometimes. I found my first Cobweb in one of them, so...

I live in an area where no one else seems to check these things. There are a lot of stumps that have 2 or 3 items in them at this point because they will keep spawning stuff even if something is already in there. I checked every log in the area several times over the course of 3 or 4 days just to see if logs spawn anything or if it's just stumps. I never found a single thing in logs that wasn't something that I had put there. So there are only 3 possibilities: 1. logs don't spawn anything, people are just finding things someone else put there, 2. logs do spawn things but it's much rarer than stump spawns, 3. I've had incredibly bad luck to the point that I have found nothing spawned in logs over several weeks at this point but found hundreds of items in stumps.

I live in an area that is just me, and a RL friend. I frequently find cobwebs, snake skulls, earthworms and pythons in logs. Silver rarely, and sometimes smooth stones. Pretty much the same items that you find in stumps.

They spawn items even if you place them on a claim, too. I dumped one on my claim as an emergency woodblock dispenser, and its spawning items now and then. No one has trespassing etc rights to my tiny little claim, and I doubt my nearest neighbors are putting things in it - the next nearest active claim to mine, aside from my friends, is about an hour away.

He isn't putting them in there, he is only able to play once or twice a week because he doesn't have internet - he comes over to my place and uses our internet to play.

Okay then it's clear logs just hate me. LOL Stumps love me though so I guess that's a fair trade. Most of the logs in my area have been killed now. They got what they deserved. Give me loot or die.

I've never found stuff in logs either, only loads of stuff in tree stumps. Maybe it depends on the area you're in?

Found endless items in old stumps.

I made a old log farm (stacked up 20-30 old logs) and checked them few days for a month, and never found anything in them.

Maybe. I've checked them frequently in coniferous, autumnal, grassland, and marsh. Never found anything. At this point I'm thinking the people finding stuff in logs are either on better drugs than I am or they have some kind of friendship magic with the Log Fairy. In my opinion logs are only good for one thing, making coal clamps.

I have only found a Cobweb and a Rotten Timber etc... in logs... Then nothing, as far as I can remember. The stumps, by the other hand, are great... To make it simpler:

Stumps: Fast spawning speed
Myrtle Oaks: Medium spawning speed
Logs: Slow/None spawning speed

Speed = relative parameter

Agree?
