English Snuff is about the only thing that might have an effect on how fast your character develops. I not sure how much that matters when, after a month or two of play, we probably will have gotten every skill currently in the game.

If by "cutting corners", you mean trying to cut the sharp corner off a piece of steel plate with a butter knife, sure, the Company Store lets you cut corners. ;)

Quite honestly, using some good old-fashioned tradesmanship will earn you more silver and cut those corners much faster than the Company Store as nearly everything can be had cheaper. The big money sinks of this game are land ownership and upkeep (vanity items will eventually be one, but just not enough yet, I don't think).

IDK, the adventurer pack can speed up your early game considerably, as it makes hunting (and thereby silver grinding too) a lot easier.

Sure, but if it's not week one of a world that benefit is meaningless. You're just playing catch up and you'll never achieve what the stall owners with iron do.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

It's not really pay 2 win BUT buying all packs( including thanksgiving pack) & 10.000 silver will give you max 1 week advantage !
The packs give you easy access to some skills, but with the silver you can buy the bible & spam it to gain skill levels.

It's not a big deal since you can get all the same with massive farming, without spending a dollar. It will take you a few days though.

Its not pay to win as you can easily catch up and the stalls system may well change anyway. Do remember we are in closed beta.

Once a server has matured it doesn't take much effort to buy a mother load of silver and spend it on inspirational's & food especially since the market place is becoming more and more like Jita everyday.

And if you don't want to buy silver from Paradox, a couple hours of foraging can net you a good 100 silver (or more depending on skills and somewhere to store bulk items). Just sell these to reputable traders.
