You got ko'd on what seems to be a completely unwalled and undefended claim. It's not the crime system, it's you.

the rationale is that looting should have the same level of risk and investment as doing it yuorself, 'the hard way'.
If someone spent 100 playing hours building that base, than it should take you roughly 100 hours of playtime to prepare a character and enter that base, risking that character's death.

Of course, this does assume that you know about mechanics and all. That means that you glutton up a bit (even undefended claims will pose a risk/problem when you are below 100 black bile).
