What is the "new" ground seed/item/spawn you keep mentioning?

I've found 2 of these, one a day or so after the other. I seem to find a lot of the rarer stuff in bunches. Odd. Not that I'm complaining.

Iv noticed this also. Random in salem looks not so random either its bugged or its intentional and we just dont uderstand why. Example geodes. I found whole box of them on my first few days I was mining than next month not a single geode.
Also other cases with torn bush flowers. I found 2 at same time and entire month 0.

Come to think of it Lost colony peices were a similar experience, although to a lesser extent, I found heaps of these overall.

I am seeing a lot of confusing info here so to clear it up...

Singing old logs no longer spawn in rotten stumps or logs. They did at one time spawn in rotten stumps and logs, that is why you can still find some legacy ones.
Singing old logs and New world gourds spawn on the ground, but are quite rare.

They used to have much lower stats and be more common. So, after the change, there were places where a lot of extra logs had spawned in stumps and rotten logs and not been picked up, and a few people were able to cash in on that. The spawns are now much more rare, but you can still sometimes find an area that has not been picked over in a long time that will have an unusually high number of them spawned in the stumps and rotten logs.

Singing Old Logs in stumps/logs are indeed "Legacy" from before the patch.

I've been playing heavily for a couple of months, and just found my first Singing Log. Have not yet found a Gourd.
