I don't have his/her name yet, says they are offline. But that sounds like a plan! Does one have to keep/show the "Evidence of larceny" tokens? Looking on wiki now, but guess not looking at the right place...thanks!

Sounds like a plan! Don't have the persons name yet though, he/she is offline it says. Does one have to keep the "evidence of larceny" tokens? Not sure how they are used I guess. Looking on the wiki now...thanks again!

The "tokens" are called evidence. You do not have to keep the track window open. Just take the evidence to the judge in town and deem the criminal guilty then lock him in the stockades. If you do not have the cash you can ask around a moment and you will probably find someone willing to take the evidence and do it themselves just so they can get the justice points.

If you are feeling bold you can track the person. (Chances are they have a protected claim you will not be able to gain access to.) However there is also a chance someone just logged off with an exposed leanto. If that is the case you can purchase a writ of homestead. Place it by the leanto claim over it then destroy the leanto. You may then right-click the scent anywhere on the ground in the game and the person will be summoned for you to do what you wish with him although there may be some skill requirements for you to perform many of the things you can do to him.

Edit: The scents will last 11 days from the time of the crime and you may regather or store the current ones you have to do as you see fit.

Sorry but if you don't have a stone wall sorrounding your leantos and homesteads with at least 5 torchposts you are basically asking people to raid you
This game is also about the pvp hysteria, you WILL have nightmares irl where an unknown person slips into your claim and murders you, next day you wake up and finish your defensive projects

Be happy it happened early and not later. Now you know and can plan ahead.

Hey there Nikixos! Nice to get your reply - It's very much appreciated! I put up a couple of torchposts, but seems like they need flames or something according to the wiki - was gonna put up a few more, but can never find leather on the marketplace, least not when I have checked that didn't cost a lot. Am working on the fences, little by little eh? As far as the hysteria goes, you are right hahahaha! I have played a few pvp games, which is an ok part, but I personally like just the crafting and building better..shrugs..grins. At any rate, nice to see those of you here who have taken the time to answer my questions! Thank you!

Ah yes, you have to split a few wooden blocks and put tinder on the torchposts as fuel.
Providence server is a lot like a pve server, because once you get proper defenses it takes TOO MUCH effort/almost impossible to grief your base, but if you are only starting and have no walls people can just traspass on your claim and start looking for valuable stuff, so yes, it is pve but you need to work for it. That is what hardcore pvp folks keep complaining about, but expeditions are supposed to be the pvp servers a.k.a easy to grief a base.

go straight for plank then for brick wall behind the plank then only a few people have the ability to raid it and if you look newbish and dont have a billion crates then no one will likely touch you.

The main upcoming issue is meat spoilage. The other thing is just plain efficiency. The stuff you are hoarding doesn't necessarily do you a lot of good just sitting there.
