I remember one of the statements being that a fishes size are dependent on how long they have been alive. So by that theory a pond that is in a square that has been loaded over and over again probably results in a larger fish.

I assumed it meant there was some sort of "stock" mechanic in play where an areas fish could be depleted by constantly fishing in that area, but you could leave that area alone and the fish would slowly get bigger while also adding new small fish to that area. *shrugs* I'm probably wrong.

I will be fixing the dried fish issue in the next patch.
