1) Don't lift anything if more than 2 people can see you, because they can surround you and wait till you KO from the loss of yellow bile or phlegm.
2) Another reason not to be afk is that people with higher affluence can push you out of the safe zone or into the dock club, where they can attack you.

So, people can fight in the dock club ring without consequence?

Someone might track you but you won't get summoned unless you steal.

If you want to spar the best thing to do is set up a arena in your mine.

Also just generally avoid getting surrounded or otherwise prevented from moving, as people can do this as a way to trap you and infect you with a disease or tickle you at will.

I also just had a nasty idea to the effect that you should probably be wary of falling objects until it is proven one way or the other whether or not you can actually both target, and hit/damage people with mortars fired from outside the providence claim. (Well, not target with any real accuracy, but areas likely to have people. If you just stood there they would hit you for sure.)

It would be stupid, and generate a scent, and for nastier payloads, require resources, but people determined to be a Menace around Providence don't really care about that. Generating a scent is nothing to them (lol alts, etc) and many will be wealthy/willing to spend that wealth on lulz, like this.

That aside people could also possibly get away with being ***** using long range mortar fire in other contexts, both near and far from Providence claim, which is fair.

I only thought about it because there are some towns/claims that aren't just pikey little fishing trap spots or denying access to a corpse. Even in those cases people might enjoy harassing their neighbors in relative safety. After all, they shoot from inside their town/claim/siege works, some of which are fairly solid, and also have the benefit of exposing attempts to get in and DO something about it to free range public scent gathering. Anyone could grab those scents, had they the nerve.

It would be capital public entertainment too. Gather at the edge of the claim, watch people exchange mortar fire, insults, and other shenanigans.
