To clarify: my personal claim in encompased by the town, but we did not build the town bell on my claim. When we click the town bell it says "this land is owned by (our town name)

Sounds to me like your Bell still has silver in it which means it still has authority. However, this does not go with the previous statement from Loftar that if there are no townmembers that you could still take it. So I default to him on just why it is not working.

Does indeed sound like a bug at this point.

Bells have been wonky and Loftar is ironing out the kinks.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Unfortunately the only answer is move. Bells are the highest in the food chain of claims, so they beat all others. If it's not playing nice, you have to gtfo :/

Issue is fixed and our town has a new mayor. If there are no citizens, a town can now get a new mayor.

Thank you Loftar for fixing this!

Loftar per PM:
I did notice that the server erroneously considered it an act of trespassing to right-click a town-bell on non-owned land, so I've fixed that now. Please try again.

i Had a question on the town bell/ charter is it a set size to begin with or is it just your current settlement, cause i have a few guys around me supposed friends that have been ***** me around and i have had a enough of it so i was thinking of buying a town charter and settling it over our area and kicking them the hell out.

The original town claim size is ~100x100, but you can expand it to be as big as you want by building authority objects. You would have to build authority objects to raise the authority on the bell, because if you want to get rid of their personal claims you will need to be able to put twice as much silver on the bell as they have invested in their claims. The town bell starts with max authority of only 750s.

LOL perfect they probably both only have 500s pumped into there's. But if i am wrong and they have more then the 750 how would i raise the silver authority on the bell.
