If you're naked and complete inventory gone, I would assume that your leanto was claimed over and destroyed(in which case, there would be no scents), and when you logged in, you woke up in Providence naked. If this is so, how did you get back to the area of your homestead?

Most likely somebody pclaimed your Leanto and then destroyed it. That makes you drop everything and leaves no scent, then he took down his pclaim and went away happy with so much silver. Just like people said before: Build a pclaim that covers a nice area and place walls. Its not enough to keep big raiders out but it will do for now.

The thing is that it costs 150 silver for someone to claim your leanto and destroy it. If you have more than that 150 silver in your inventory, then it is worth it for someone to do this. The wilderness is a dangerous place, and you should be prepared for this fact. There is no way around it. Obviously, in order to enjoy the game, you will be moving from a leanto to a claimstone as a homestead at some point. This 150 silver benchmark should be the moment in which you make the move unless you want to risk the inventory loss because other factors are more important to you.
