For bears you want to be faster on your feet, the more you can avoid the attack where they stand on their hind legs the better. Bullrush is your friend but so is 'Regain composure' - this will lower you your reel meter (the higher it is the more damage you take from the bear) It also tends to triger the bear to perform an attack so a good way to lure it your way for a bullrush or a thrust.

Be careful with Regain Composure as it drains your black bile. At low biles if the bear has roared a few times you might find yourself in a tight spot when your BB drains fast. If you ever find yourself confronted to this situation don't run as you'll surely get KO'ed. Instead kill the bear ASAP then find the nearest berry bushes and gather grass. Make berries in a straw while eating berries and then eat the berries in a straw to regen black bile as fast as you can. Hickory nuts can also save you.

Oh right, I forgot to add about the black bile tea buff - I tend to fill the buff before I head out. Havign some turkey jerky at hand is also useful.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

In the wiki it says common combat power increases the damage of all kinds of players' attacks, so concussive as well.

For deer, I stand really close to them, then pop defensive stance and stomp them, then thrust. If you need to repeat, stick close to them as much as possible and, when they seem to stop moving for a second, pop your stomp and thrust again. Repeat as many times as necessary. If you get anxious, just remember; stay close and do NOT do anything unless you see them stop for that extra second or two, then stomp and thrust. Their movements are predictable so after you kill 1-2 you will see how easy it is and never have a problem again.

For bears, bullrun and 2 thrusts then gtf away from them. You can also use turkeys that you can just pick up and release when KO'ed to have them attack the bear again.

I'm bored so i'll give a guide for darkness monsters.

Rats- just halberd they can get agrod fairly far just with the swing, and by the time you actually do the cleave they will be in agro range and you will kill them before they get close to you.

March hares- This one really depends, usually if you are fighting one you should have no trouble minus the bleed, the first two bites aren't so bad as it won't do much bleed damage it only bites, and i have never seen it "charge", it has a slow attack animation so just move a few tiles and wait for its attack after it readies the attack animation just step like 1 tile away and stomp you should have enough time for a stomp and pierce if you do not kill it, just repeat.

Argopelter- Just let it jump into a tree then run away, then keep running until it runs out of the tree and you are in an area where it cant make any abrupt turns into a tree seeing as if you get close it will run into the nearest tree rather then chasing you. It's somewhat hard to stomp it since it will just run in an opposite direction, if you see it running for a specific tree and there are no other spots just run in front of the tree and cleave it, it usually takes 2 or 3 cleaves depending on the person, it has very low hp.

Hydrukey- It doesn't really do any significant damage and already has somewhat low hp, it's fast and moves in a random pattern i haven't really found a proper method to kill one without getting hit since i only ever hunt them when i want a specific item it drops which isn't very often. Since my humors are at a fair level i just stomp through its attack and pierce it until it dies.

Wishpoosh- These are extremely easy, just bullrun it and pierce it, then run away and when you see it about to start its run animation after it's out of the stun from bullrun use stomp, it runs very fast so by the time you actually do the stomp animation it will already be right behind you and most likely stunned, after it's stunned pierce it run away and repeat the stomp/pierce until it is dead. If you do this right it won't even hit you once.

Fur fur- I recommend not even fighting these unless you have a friend with you to bounce agro back and forth.

Once you get bullrun down you will find most animals very easy to kill, but it can actually be quite tricky if you deal with a bad computer or are fairly new at hunting. If you use a custom client I would recommend using the gob paths, its ugly, no offense. But it can be very helpful in the beginning to learn the timings on the very first bullrun. Once you get it down you'll be able to kill bear without getting a single stack of fear on you.

if you keep bear from doing area attack you shouldn't have a problem at 80, but as soon as he hits with this attack there is a chance to fracture. I don't care what anybody says, if they get fractured at 80 or even 100 biles they have no chance to kill bear. The only exception may be if they are using tea but still extremely difficult.

How do you switch between the Saber and Halberd in combat?

Also what do your hot bars look like? I am around high 50s on humors and have trouble with deer some times.

hot bars are on the bottom, you have to equip something to them. 50s humors is fine for deer as long as you stay close. Be weary of getting too far aways as they will charge you and there is a chance of fracture. With fracture it becomes difficult as this lowers you yellow bar and decreases mobility, also this decreases carry weight and can cause you to become completely immobile if carrying too much. My strategy on deer is stomp then thrust, but I do take a bit of damage and there are other ways to attack them without taking any damage.
