So for the game, id say when its done u may get between 0-4 steel, depending on rng?

It should be, technically, 4+ bars of blister steel per coffin, as the mass of the resulting blister steel would be greater than the input iron... but hey, realism = double standards in salem! :D

well, they base on some real stuff and tweek them so it fits salem :D

The amount of carbon going from wrought iron to steel is relatively small and doesn't significantly change volume. We're talking a couple of percent carbon by weight. (assuming a .5% wrought and a 2.5% steel). (*about a 1% increase in carbon content with the cementation process according to Wikipedia.)

How much of the % fuel does the furnance use per day?
Can you re-fuel or do you need to plan in advance?
And did you need to do anything to the coffin before using it?

It uses very little fuel i can't say exactly how much
as we only have a few and don't keep tabs on them maybe 3 coal a day if you wana keep it at 100.

Yes you can re-fuel whenever you want of course make sure it actually needs coal.

No all you need to do is make the coffin and pop it into one of the empty slots and wait about a week.

You dont need coal to fuel it. Branches will do fine too.

we can craft, what is named "blistercoffinu" in game files:
blistercoffinu

And it probably turns into "blistercoffinb" (blister coffin burnt?):
blistercoffinb

Seeing as we will get "burnt blister coffin" instead of an actual bar, I guess it will allow us to take out multiple steel bars out of the coffin.
Seeing as we only got an option to craft blister coffin with wrought iron inside, instead of an empty coffin, I assume that the coffin cannot be reused.

Also, interesting quote from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cementation_process):
"Bars were regularly examined and when the correct condition was reached the heat was withdrawn and the pots were left until cool—usually around fourteen days"

So has anyone yet completed the process and can tell us more?

Modern steel is quickly quenched with oil after heating it. Perhaps we need to quench that heated bar with water?

There are still no answers there. And I saw someone selling steel already (might be cash shop).
