Hmm... it still does not seem to be working then. After I take the soaked bark out and take the clay pot, when I cursor over it, it says: "contents: tanning fluid". Should this not change to say "Willowbark Tonic"?

Please empty the pot, fill it with water and boil a new bark again. Don't put anything except the bark in the pot.

I think I may have figured it out. I emptied out the tanning fluid and refilled the pot with regular water. I am currently boiling up a willowbark and have confidence that this will work now.

I put the willow bark in the pot, but how do you put water in the clay pot? I have a flask and tried to fill it with water, but that didn't do anything.

Clay pot is 4 slots over open stone fire pit
1 slot has willow bark
How to add water to it??

You can put the pot in your inventory and right click a full bucket on it to transfer the water. Or, you can RIGHT click your pot on shallow water to fill it that way, the same way you do a bucket.

Let us all pour a sip out for our fallen bucket and pot brethren lost to the cruel occasional accidental left click

Left clicking on clay pot and hovering over shallow water and then Right clicking the pot in shallow water did nothing.

This game is so damn unintuitive and frustrating. I go to visit the town to see what its like, get diseased due to dead bodies at port in point, and now can't figure out the simplest of things like how to put water in a clay pot and am probably going to die.

Just right click the water with the pot.

1. left click pot in your inventory to pick it up
2. right click shallow water/well/barrel of water with the pot.
2a. if you go for a well, youll have to wait for the animation to finish.
3. your pot is now full of water.
4. left click the pot back into your inventory.
4a. if you left click anywhere but your inventory with the now full pot, you are going to drop it. Not a problem with a well, but you will lose the pot in a river/lake.

couldn't be any simpler.

Well, I guess if you were standing in shallow water and right-clicked a container in your inventory, the flower menu could include a "fill" option much like "empty". That might be simpler. Sort of eliminate the ol' "whoops I dropped my bucket in the water" problem at the same time.

Is this a small idea that should go in the small ideas thread?
