I'm quite curious why you have the console enabled?
I have never needed it myself for normal play :)
Do you get error messages, does the client simply hang/crash?
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

When you're having issues with loading, it's a good thing to set the console to open. It's an extra step in troubleshooting.

Looks like the launcher isn't finding at least one of the .dlls. Check your hdd for them. Several of these are part of OpenGL's implementation.

The only thing I can suggest at this point is flushing Salem out of the Java cache and trying again. It could also be that these files aren't in the right place. I'm not entirely sure if these should come with the program that needs them or should be installed to Windows with your graphics driver, so you might want to update or reinstall the driver.

In this case, the launcher would give a tangible error message rather than simply hanging.

Also: your drivers are HORRIBLY out of date (2005?!).
More precisely, the client uses JOGL 2 bindings which uses OpenGL 2.1+, which were only released in 2006 and later. This might be the issue.

Good point, Kandarim. Derp on me. :P

@remotya91: Salem uses OpenGL. The DirectX Diagnostics Tool won't help you any here, unfortunately. To find out what your card supports, you'll need to find a "caps viewer" that tests OpenGL routines. There's a variety available, but I don't have one to recommend. You can search Google for "OpenGL diagnostic tool"

SiS Mirage, though? Might I ask what kind of CPU and RAM you have as well as specific model of graphics card or chip set? I don't think SiS has made a graphics card in about 5 or 6 years (I'm not seeing anything newer on their wikipedia page, and 2007 is question marked as the author is unsure of release.) This card may have proper support, but without further research and information I can't be sure.

Did you test running the OpenGL demos? Did they work? I'll assume they did.

However, 1407 MB of RAM might just be too little. When I play, the client regularly requires 1000+ MB of memory, which it might not get on your setup. However, i'd expect it to throw out of memory exceptions rather than hanging.

A conundrum, i'm afraid.

From those screen shots, looks like your card only supports OpenGL 1.4. Salem requires 1.5. You can check through that app some to see if it can test for compatibility, but you may need a newer driver (sometimes this can add support for 1.5) or replace/upgrade the video card.

1407 is enough RAM. The default client stays under 1GB. I know Enders can eat up more with some of the caching it does. (I can play on a AMD Athlon with only 1GB and a 128MB video card).
