My Character is gone

Postby skabb » Wed Sep 18, 2013 2:02 am

My character is suddenly gone today and I would like to know what happened.

I can't find anything on the forums about account support.

Thanks.

Did you do anything that could left a summonable scent? Like murder, waste, theft?

I did steal something but the criminal activity had expired and I was in my home and then logged off.

Shouldn't my character still exist as an option, or is it just gone when you die?

When you commit crimes you leave evidence/scents, that's different from the crime debuff you get and lasts longer. Different crimes leave different lasting scents, the more crime you commit the more scents you leave, and when/if someone collects them all they stack so that they can track you much longer. So if you stole a bunch of stuff you would have left a lot of scents, they could track you a long way, then summon your character back after they break into your base and then murder you... Which sounds like what happened :'( sorry, but on the plus side... you can make a new character and while you're in the dock area choosing your appearance keep an eye out for a new NPC dude standing at a shack that was previously closed... you can use him to inherit rights to your claim.

Chances are, there's little to nothing left, but at least it's a bit of closure!

I haven't yet been summon killed so I don't know if there should be any msg after you die in this way. You could however make a new character and see if you have the inherit option. If you do, there is high possibility you have been sadly summon killed. While doing this you could see as well, if there were any scents left by you murderer (if he summoned killed you, I assume he should have broken into your claim and destroyed your lento). However I have no experience with summon killing, so I m not sure if that is 100% accurate.

And there should be some nice scents from the murder itself... And he likely destroyed/stole everything of value. So very likely that you could collect the scents and, if nothing else, hire someone to take the fellow out.

Also, he might be reading this :P Keep it in mind.

I didn't see it mentioned, so pardon me if it was...

The evidence collected from a crime scene lasts 10x longer than the scene does. These are what is used to summon the player while offline, so even if you've waited out the time needed for the scene to go away, you can still be summon-killed. (That's up to 90 days for murder.)

Also, there is no message after you've been summon-killed. If you're character was there when you logged out, this is the only thing that could have happened. (This is assuming you logged out normally and didn't get kicked out from dying.)
