Questions about braziers,self-defense, waterstomp

Postby thedude381 » Fri Mar 29, 2013 6:54 pm

Just have a few questions about certain salem mechanics:

1. Will braziers activate when someone tries to a break a fence on claimed land, and how bad is the diminishing returns from multiple braziers?

2. If someone is attacking me and i knock them out, does it leave a scent?

3. If i stomp someone who's swimming in deep water, will they be stunned inside it? ¦]

thanks for the reply, i've heard you need multiple fences for braziers to activate, but was changed sometime, so just to clarify, they activate on the first fence break/destroy?

yes now they activate on the first attack
yea who needs "secure" trading, its not like this game would benefit from it, lets just kill the newbs instead as long as that's fun and people still join the game.

fairly sure yeah.

Stomp also works from boats.

If you're on a boat you can stomp, but you only hit passengers. Adjacent boats and their passengers are not hit.

Canoes are a different matter however.

I should make a new topic for this, but seeing as i'm still on first page and don't want to spam...

Can you find items inside hollow logs?

Is there a chance to find items( other than live snakes  ) when lifting hollow logs/
Boulders?

Does it cost material to repair a structure?

No, no, yes.
The only items you will find in hollow logs are things that other players have put there.

1. Yes only when enough crime is reach though so for high levels it would be a couple of fences, but low level phlegm maybe not. As for the diminishing return look at the wiki first bro dmg = basedmg / (1 + N*0.2) where n is the number of braziers that are hitting the target.
2. Yes killing, knocking someone out, and all crime leaves a scent. The severity of the crime will dictate how long the scent lasts there.
3. Wouldn't count too much on water combat lol, but i have no idea

Damn, I guess I should just run quickly from raiders then, I plan on being a upstanding citizen and will not commit crimes.
